NEXT!

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 11, 2007, 10:40 PM
Okay, i'm all back from Aussieland and Oahu. BTW best effin trip of my life.

I went on an awesome helicopter ridge, saw koala's and kangaroos, was very happy with the fact that my tarantula collection is better than the random Aussie petstore I wandered into, ate dinner with vampires, took in the great ocean road, got rip roaring pissed at an irish bar ';Pug Mahones' (I don't remember giving them my email, but they seem to have it and apparently they have a great friday special), hung out with awesome people and chased possums to get photos. I spent an afternoon envying Melbournes aquarium, which is FAR superior to my own and full of awesome sharks and rare oceanic critters, drank plenty o' wine, single handedly ended a 10 year drought by showing up and making it rain for 5 days in a row, and visited Bell's Beach (home of Ripcurl)

*.....DEEPBREATH.....*

Experienced massive crisis when Jades ticket from Australia to Hawaii disappeared into dataland, reunited many hours later (read:12ish) on the shore of Waikiki beach which would be a really amazing spot if not for all the damned people around >_> Played in the ocean, tried to climb Diamondhead mountain but couldn't find the base, shopped at an international market that appeared to be largely owned by China, got a massive sunburn! but it was only on my belly which has a lovely tan now, swam with green sea turtles on a reef, went cruising on a catamaran, saw a fish whose name I can't spell but goes something like hanhanahukchumbawaba, laid comfortably on beaches and absolutely, steadfastly refused to believe that there was a life to return to that included work and stresses, walked through the same door that Gen. Douglas MacArthur walked through when Japan surrendered at the end of WWII on that ship in Pearl Harbour, saw a barracuda (damn things seem to follow me around) while I was out on the Pearl Harbour memorial thingy, took over 500!! photo's none of which I have loaded onto my computer yet because my usb ports still aren't working properly, drew a mermaid for a flight attendant whose flight was delayed but who I was not sorry for because she got a seat in executive class, and flew to Calgary.

*....GASPGASP.....*

Saw my parents, visited my brothers and new sister in law, ate at Tim Horton's (because this is an important thing to do after coming back from overseas), and played with my dogs. Also took time to go to my former place of employment and visit with friends (ie: Lina, Simon, Danielle, Stephen etc.) please don't feel left out if I didn't mention you... you know I saw you, leave it at that.

Then I flew to Toronto and went to work the next day.
Thank you for reading my rant about my rather boring life and holiday.

Currently seeking my next great adventure.
Please make suggestions here.

Time to renew the passport

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 10, 2006, 10:53 PM
I had a week off... a whole week to myself. My first thought was that this was a good time to skip the country again. Sadly, my passport expires next month and you need at least 6 mos on your passport to leave. Damn do I suck for procrastinating.

Now my week will be spent doing all kinds of 'responsible' things that 'need' to get done.

Sucky.

I have OCTD

I've been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Travel Disorder. I've been told there is no cure and I can only treat the symptoms by giving in to my compulsions and desires...

Anyway, I'm back from Mexico. The trip was exciting, beautiful and full of wonderful surprises. During the trip I visited ancient Mayan ruins, hiked barefoot through the jungle (this was not the best idea I've ever had), jumped off cliffs, floated through mangroves in an inflatable tube... got tired of floating and went snorkling down the river, I explored cenotes and got as close as I ever care to get to a 4.5' barracuda. We chased a lot of small animals trying to get pictures of them and I swam with sharks for the first time (don't get too excited, they were small nurse sharks... totally harmless). I joined my older brother on his first SCUBA dive, and was the first of the family to find out that his girlfriend said 'yes' to The Big Question. So now he has a fiance and I have a future sister-in-law. It's been a very long and exciting week.

Jade, if you read this I got you a souvenier ^_^ Let me know where I can send it or if you're heading back to Antigonish for grad I can give it to you then 'cause I think I'm going.

Next stop... Mexico

Got a haircut and got a real job

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 1, 2005, 2:31 PM
Yesterday I was offered my first REAL job. That's right... salary, benefits, vacations, potential for upward mobility... no more minimum wage customer service bullshit!!

I said yes, put in my 2 weeks notice at the video store and am eagerly awaiting my meeting tomorrow where I sign the bottom line. This week couldn't possibly get any better :boogie:
